Intervet Sponsors Veterinary Symposium at the 2007 Therio/ACT/AETA Annual Convention

Millsboro, DE—July 16, 2007. Intervet Inc. announced today that it is proud to sponsor the Senior Vet Student Survival Program at the 2007 Therio/ACT/AETA Annual Meeting in Monterey, California, August 7th-11th. Intervet is a Platinum Sponsor of the Society for Theriogenology’s (SFT) annual convention, which is held this year in conjunction with the American College of Theriogenologists (ACT) and the American Embryo Transfer Association (AETA).

In addition to the Platinum sponsorship, Intervet helped organize and finance the veterinary student portion of the convention. Intervet’s participation includes: underwriting part of the travel costs for 40 students, organizing student-specific lectures, videorecording and production of the proceedings, and more.

Consisting of a series of lectures by five well-known authorities, the Senior Vet Student Survival Program will review clinical physiology and baseline clinical knowledge in the key disciplines of equine, bovine, swine, small ruminant, and companion animal reproduction. Intervet is pleased to support veterinary student education by helping students prepare for senior clinical rotations and the national board exams via this special seminar.

In addition, Intervet will provide free to all 3rd- and 4th-year veterinary students the printed proceedings of the meeting and DVDs of the symposium lectures, plus a copy of Intervet’s Compendium of Animal Reproduction.

“This educational program for veterinary students is exactly the type of program we wish to foster because it not only helps us meet our goals of furthering knowledge in the field of theriogenology, but also encourages the development of veterinary specialists in animal reproduction,” noted Charles Franz, DVM and Executive Director of SFT/ACT.

Similarly enthused about the program is Dr. Bill Burdett of Intervet, who commented, “Supporting the education of veterinary students has long been a priority at Intervet, so we
are especially pleased to be involved in this important initiative that brings students face-to-face with experts in animal reproduction for a unique learning experience.” Burdett adds, “We also appreciate the opportunity to help senior students prepare for the reproductive testing portion
of the national boards.”
