Intervet Receives FDA Approval for Revalor®-XS
Performance Technology Breakthrough Will Simplify Cattle Feeding
MILLSBORO, Del. (Jan. 31, 2007) Intervet announces it has received approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Revalor-XS for steers, the first combination, delayed-release implant for steers fed in confinement that delivers re-implant performance in just one application, reducing labor and management time for cattle feeders and minimizing stress on cattle.
Revalor-XS delivers the proven Revalor performance technology of trenbolone acetate and estradiol that cattle feeders trust to improve cattle performance traits, such as average daily gain and feed-to-gain ratio, in the convenience of a single, delayed-release format.
Dr. John Hutcheson, Intervet’s Director of Cattle Performance Technologies, says the
special-release profile of the Revalor-XS implant truly simplifies management practices for cattle feeders in their steer-feeding programs. He explains, “The ‘one-touch’ application of Revalor-XS enables cattle feeders to better utilize management time and employee labor, while improving cattle performance and reducing stress.”
“The initial release, followed by the delayed-release, of full doses of trenbolone acetate and estradiol with the elimination of a second processing regiment results in less fluctuation in feed intake. It’s a win-win for the cattle-feeding industry.”
“We are thrilled to be ahead of schedule with the licensing of this exciting new product and are looking forward to launching Revalor-XS for steers this year,” says Jim Miles, Intervet Marketing Manager for Beef Cattle Performance Technology Products. “Intervet is dedicated to researching and developing innovative products for the livestock industry, and Revalor-XS is a natural extension of Intervet’s commitment to research and performance that benefits the beef industry.”
“As the industry leader in performance technologies, Intervet continuously seeks to deliver innovative products and solutions to the beef industry in a responsible manner,” says Eric Alsup, Vice President of Intervet’s Animal Health Business Team in De Soto, Kan. “The combination, single-dose technology of Revalor-XS complements the Intervet one-touch, cattle-management program, which includes Vista® and Safe-Guard®, simplifying and streamlining management practices.”
