TREMVAC-FP-CAV®
TREMVAC-FP-CAV®
Avian Encephalomyelitis - Fowl Pox and Chicken Anemia Virus Vaccine
TREMVAC-FP® vaccine is a lyophilized live vaccine for use in breeder pullets and egg layers to prevent egg production loss and clinical disease due to avian encephalomyelitis and fowl pox. It is approved for wing web inoculation.
CAV-VAC® vaccine is live virus vaccine prepared from a modified US field isolate of chicken anemia virus (CAV). It is approved for use in breeder pullets 10 weeks of age and older via the wing web inoculation method.

- Provides uniform flock protection.
- Combined product reduces vaccination costs.
Indications
TREMVAC-FP-CAV® is indicated for the vaccination of chickens at 10 weeks of age and older against fowl pox and AE in breeders and chicken infectious anemia in the progeny of breeder replacements. Do not vaccinate prior to 10 weeks of age, or the vaccinates may develop clinical signs of AE. Do not vaccinate birds in production, or within 6 weeks of the onset of egg production.
Administration and Dosage
The time of administration should be determined by the degree AE, pox virus and chicken infectious anemia exposure and the type of chicken being vaccinated. TREMVAC-FP-CAV® is approved for use via wing web inoculation.
Vaccination
The best protection is obtained when the replacement pullets are vaccinated uniformly prior to exposure to field CAV to induce consistent high circulating antibody levels in the breeder hens and when the vaccinated birds have time to develop immunity prior to exposure to AE and poxviruses. The vaccine should be administered via the wing web application method using the enclosed 2-prong applicator.
Proper vaccination should result in local swelling and scab formation at the vaccination site. At 7 to 10 days post-vaccination, a few birds should be examined for takes.
Caution
- Refer to the package insert for specific directions.
- Avoid exposure of this vaccine to sunlight.
- Efforts should be taken to reduce stress conditions at the time of vaccination and during the reaction period.
- Do not vaccinate chickens in lay or within 6 weeks of the onset of lay.
- Do not vaccinate birds within 21 days of slaughter.
- All susceptible birds on the same premises should be vaccinated at the same time.
- Do not dilute the vaccine or otherwise stretch the dosage of the vaccine.
- Use entire contents of the vial when first opened.
- Following vaccination, virus may be shed in the feces. Strict biosecurity should be maintained to avoid spread of the virus to young chickens, chickens in lay or chickens within 6 weeks of the onset of lay.
