Heroes for Healthy Pets™ Module 1: Understanding Infectious Diseases
About This Webinar
The Heroes for Healthy Pets certification program was created to help veterinary professionals and pet businesses create facilities dedicated to being disease-free. The program is co-sponsored by the International Boarding and Pet Services Association, the National Association of Veterinary Technicians, Pet Sitters International, VETgirl, and Barkleigh Productions and is powered by Nobivac® vaccines. This presentation objective:

- Review common transmissible diseases in dogs, including pathogens of CIRDC (canine infectious respiratory disease complex), leptospirosis, parvovirus, and distemper
- Recognizing the clinical signs of illness
- Managing outbreaks in group environments, such as kennels and doggie daycares, and options for prevention
To become certified, the veterinary or pet professional must view Module 1: Understanding Infectious Diseases, and Module 2: Effective Infectious Disease Control, and then pass a certification exam. The program also provides up to three hours of RACE approved continuing education credit for veterinary professionals, three hours of PACCC approved continuing education units for pet professionals, and three hours of CPPS continuing education for pet sitters.
