
Dr. Matthew Goetz

Sr. Professional Services Veterinarian
As a Professional Services Veterinarian, Dr. Matthew Goetz works closely with many organizations throughout the country to help them make a positive impact on the animals in their community. Prior to joining Merck Animal Health in 2020, Dr. Goetz was the Medical Director for an animal shelter in Phoenix, Arizona. While serving as Medical Director, he led the expansion of the low-cost public veterinary clinic, renovations to the foster building as well as increased many public outreach programs to provide free veterinary care for pets of people in need. Dr. Goetz has also served on boards of several non-profit organizations, including animal shelters and veterinary medical associations. Dr. Goetz and his wife (who is also veterinarian), share a life with multiple cats that have come to live them over the years.
