Dr. Dominique Sims joined Merck Animal Health in 2018 as a Professional Services Veterinarian in the Pacific Northwest Region. In 2022, she joined the veterinary insights and medical affairs team providing technical support for the therapeutic portfolio of products. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of West Florida and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University.
Her background in animal health includes research as well as several years of clinical experience as a small animal practitioner in general practice, emergency medicine, and corporate hospitals. These experiences have equipped her with a versatile skill set, enabling her to address a wide range of veterinary health related issues.
Outside of her work in the field of veterinary medicine, Dr. Sims has a passion for traveling and photography. She takes advantage of the breathtaking landscape of the Pacific Northwest by hiking frequently with her husband, son, and Cocker Spaniel.
“I have wanted to be a veterinarian since I was three years old. My earliest memory is attending my family dog’s vaccine appointment and being so amazed that this kind of profession existed.”
