August 12, 2026
First recombinant vaccine to help protect against four major poultry diseases in a single hatchery vaccination
RAHWAY, N.J., Aug. 13, 2026 – Merck Animal Health, known as MSD Animal Health outside of the United States and Canada, a division of Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, N.J., USA (NYSE: MRK), today announced U.S. Department of Agriculture approval of INNOVAX® ND-IBD-ILT, the first recombinant vaccine to provide protection against Newcastle disease, infectious bursal disease, infectious laryngotracheitis and Marek’s disease in a single hatchery vaccination.
INNOVAX ND-IBD-ILT is designed to help poultry veterinarians streamline vaccination programs and simplify flock health management by establishing broad immunity early against four major poultry diseases in a single hatchery administration.
The vaccine provides protection throughout the production cycle, helping support consistent flock health and performance.
Poultry producers continue to face increasing pressure to optimize flock health while managing labor and operational demands. INNOVAX ND-IBD-ILT is designed to help simplify vaccination programs while supporting early, broad disease protection, and making flock management more efficient.
“Poultry producers and veterinarians need disease protection that is both comprehensive and practical,” said Charles Broussard, D.V.M., senior account manager for poultry sales, Merck Animal Health. “By helping protect against four major diseases in a single hatchery vaccination, INNOVAX ND-IBD-ILT reduces complexity and provides veterinarians with greater convenience throughout the production cycle.”
INNOVAX ND-IBD-ILT incorporates dual glycoprotein inserts designed to provide strong and consistent infectious laryngotracheitis protection while simplifying vaccination strategies. By concentrating vaccination efforts at the hatchery, the vaccine can reduce bird handling, optimize labor and reduce operational complexity.
INNOVAX ND-IBD-ILT will be commercially available in the fourth quarter of 2026. For more information about INNOVAX ND-IBD-ILT, contact your Merck Animal Health representative or visit https://www.merck-animal-health-usa.com/hub/innovax/.
