Merck Animal Health Names Dr. Christine Royal as its U.S. Companion Animal and Equine Business Leader

Madison, N.J., Dec. 10, 2020 – Merck Animal Health, known as MSD Animal Health outside the US and Canada, a division of Merck & Co., Inc., Kenilworth, N.J., USA (NYSE:MRK), is pleased to announce that Christine Royal, DVM, has been named the Associate Vice President, U.S. Companion Animal and Equine business unit, effective immediately.

Dr. Royal, who joined Merck Animal Health in 2014, has over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine, including 15 years of volunteer work and practicing small animal and mixed animal medicine. She continues to hold active licenses in both Alabama and Tennessee. Prior to being named to her new role of Associate Vice President, U.S. Companion Animal and Equine, Dr. Royal held the role of Executive Director of Companion Animal and Equine Professional Services where she led a large team of veterinary professionals across the country.

Dr. Royal earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Auburn University.
