Accessory boards add functionality to the IS1001 reader. Typically used in standalone or synchronized system configurations, accessory boards expand the communication capability of individual IS1001 readers.


The Biomark Data-Over-Power (DOP) board allows for IS1001 readers to be configured in a “star” configuration as opposed to a “network” configuration, when used as part of an IS1001-MTS system. The star configuration is convenient if more than two locations need to be monitored. For IS1001 standalone application it allows long range (up to 1,000 feet) serial communication.

Thermoelectric Generator

A thermoelectric generator (TEG) is a consistent and reliable way to deliver DC power to a PIT-tag system. Biomark offers both standard and hybrid propane generators manufactured by Global Thermoelectric www.globalte.com. The TEG system consists of a generator, which consumes about 1.5 gallons of propane per day, and a supply tank. The hybrid configuration incorporates a solar array to reduce fuel consumption by up to 60% which is ideal at sites where routine filling of propane tanks is difficult.
