Nebraska producer relies on CleanVax^™ to optimize intranasal vaccination

Brendon Hauxwell is a sixth-generation cow-calf producer in McCook, Nebraska, working on his family’s operation Hauxwell Land & Cattle.

“We calve about 1,800 cows, taking them to the sandhills in the summer and bringing them back home to wean,” says Hauxwell. “We have struggled with bovine respiratory disease (BRD).”

To combat illness, Hauxwell vaccinates his calves with BOVILIS^® NASALGEN^® 3-PMH, the only intranasal BRD vaccine offering protection against viral and bacterial pathogens.

“We started using BOVILIS NASALGEN 3-PMH a few years ago and continue using it because it works,” Hauxwell explains.

When running calves through the chute this past spring, Hauxwell tried something new to optimize intranasal vaccine administration — he used Allflex^® CleanVax^™ nozzles and shields.

After the success he saw, Hauxwell says they’ll continue to use CleanVax^™ products in the future. “With more even coverage, I feel it’s the best thing for the animal,” he states.
