Michele Travers, DVM
Associate Director,
Strategic Account Veterinarians, National
Dr. Michele Travers was born in Kingston, Jamaica, before moving to the USA. Her childhood passion for veterinary medicine began at an early age and has driven her through a distinguished career of over 30 years. After graduating from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993, Dr. Travers achieved board certification (DABVP, Canine and Feline) and went on to own and operate a successful 6-doctor practice in Boca Raton, FL. Her career includes partnerships with corporate groups like VCA and NVA, as well as leadership in specialty practice as the Director of Medical Operations at the Animal Cancer Care Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale. Dr Travers has also held the role of Senior Professional Services veterinarian for the last few years.
Now back in Auburn, where her heart resides, Dr. Travers continues to feel blessed to be an integral part of veterinary medicine. Her professional passions include dermatology, internal medicine, pain control, and ultrasound. Outside of work, she enjoys marathon running, cooking, and traveling, with the goal of completing the Abbott World Majors. Cheering on her Auburn Tigers during fall football season is another passion.
Her aspiration is “to be as good as my dog thinks I am” —a lifelong work in progress.
Dr Travers is a member of the DABVP (C/F), AVMA, AAVD, and prior VMG member. She enjoys making a positive impact on the world of foster care by supporting the Big House Foundation.
Another passion is marathon running to support charities such as the Semper K9 assistance dogs.
“Great vets see with the heart, not just with the eyes.”
