In his early career, Dr. Goetz served as the Medical Director at an animal shelter in Phoenix, Arizona. In this position, he led the expansion of a low-cost public veterinary clinic, ensuring that pet owners had access to exceptional veterinary care that was both affordable and of high quality. He played a pivotal role in renovations that enabled a local shelter to accommodate more animals and save numerous lives through an outstanding foster program. Throughout his impressive career in veterinary medicine, he has made significant contributions to the field of shelter medicine in his local community. His commitment to continual growth in animal care and learning from a parent who was a hospital administrator Dr. Goetz understood the importance and responsibilities needed to grow any successful practice and furthered his professional development by obtaining an MBA with a focus on business management in 2018.
He actively engages in the animal welfare community. His valuable expertise has led him to serve on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including animal shelters and veterinary medical associations. Through his involvement, he has played a key role in shaping policies and programs that promote and safeguard the well-being of animals on a larger scale.

In 2020, Dr. Goetz joined Merck Animal Health bringing his compassion and dedication to the Professional Services Veterinarian team. Known for his commitment to animal welfare and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of animals, he works closely with various organizations across the country. His commitment to animal welfare extends not only to his professional endeavors but also to his personal life. Alongside his wife, who is also a veterinarian, they provide a warm and loving home for multiple cats who have found their way into their lives over the years. This personal connection underscores Dr. Goetz’s profound dedication to the health and happiness of animals.
In his downtime, you can often find him and his wife embarking on adventures, whether traveling to see their favorite band, Nathaniel Rateliff and Night Sweats, or enjoying leisure time watching The Big Lebowski, to sightseeing, hiking and local exploration.
